Guess I should at least start titling these things correctly, since they've now obviously evolved past the "I can use the Olympics as an excuse" phase. That way everyone on my flist who isn't interested in the slightest with gay swim smut can just float on by.

It's pretty embarrassing, actually:

The mailman walks in to my office today and he knows I'm waiting for the SI with Phelps on the cover. He is also, apparently, afeared that I will assault him to get it.

The dentist I work for tells me that I can "xerox the cover to put it under your pillow or whatever, but you can't steal it because my wife wants to see it."

And our hygienist calls on her day off just to tell me that her People mag has a Phelps article in it and that she'll bring it in with her tomorrow for me.

...

Really. I'm not *that* obsessed.

See? Today I didn't even write about him! (Actually, it's kinda like all my fanfiction... I always end up writing my 2nd favorite the most...)

It's a little surreal to me that the young man who is now the all-around Most Winningest Olympian ever grew up in my town. *Flies a Phelps flag* Guess everybody has to come from somewhere.

Needless to say--he wins his eighth medal and I wake up to write my morning words and who comes out? The Frenchman. What the hell.
